Japanese watchmaker Seiko continues to make waves in the Philippine market as it launches its newest boutique at Power Plant Mall. The boutique showcases both its Seiko and luxury Grand Seiko collections.

Grand Seiko’s newest timepieces

Housed are two new additions to the Grand Seiko Sport Collection. The travel-ready quartz GMT watch boasts a stainless-steel case and a dual-curve sapphire crystal surrounded by a fixed stainless-steel bezel with a 24-hour scale. SBGN027 features a black sunray dial with otherwise monochromatic highlights, while the SBGN029 has a blue sunray dial with red-color accents on the dial text and GMT hand.

Marking the 55th year anniversary of the signature 44GS, another new watch to anticipate for pre-order is the SLGH013 under the Grand Seiko Heritage Collection. Inspired by the melting snows of Mt. Iwate, the SLGH013 features a new light blue dial and a case and bracelet made of Ever-Brilliant Steel.

Also available at the boutique is the collection that represents the future of Grand Seiko – the Evolution 9 collection. A perfect mixture of traditional and modern, the collection draws inspiration from the traditions and culture of Japan while remaining modernized with its confident lines, powerful presence, and quiet radiance that speaks to the next generation.

With its own dedicated corner at the boutique, Seiko’s patrons will have a variety of options that fits their lifestyle. Inspired by the ever-present neon lights in Tokyo at night, limited-edition Astron 5X Caliber proves to be the optimal traveling companion with its scratch-resistant titanium case and bracelet, GPS Solar Caliber 5X53 that automatically adjusts the time depending on the wearer’s time zone, and Lumibrite that emits an ethereal glow and delivers high night-time legibility. Perfect for any occasion, the timepiece is available in three color schemes: the SSH117 with a silvery white dial and a black bezel, SSH121 with a blue dial and bezel with a black case, and the SSH119 with a black dial and bezel with a blue sub-dials.

Seiko continues to uphold its reputation as a pioneer in sports timing for over six decades. One of its top sport watch collections is hand assembled Prospex Speedtimer Oregon powered by Caliber 8R46, which much like the Caliber 6139 used in the original 1969 Speedtimer, incorporates vertical clutch and column wheel mechanisms to ensure the highest possible levels of precision and durability.

There is also the Prospex Speedtimer SSC813 that is powered by light energy, designed with a curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and water-resistant for up to 10 bar.

Another timepiece that athletes and sports aficionados alike would surely appreciate is the Prospex LX that represents the true spirit of Seiko. A perfect combination of aesthetics and practicality, the watch sports a high end collection aesthetics while maintaining its practicality with its low center of gravity

The limited edition Prospex SLA063, with its subtle blue scheme, is known as the mechanical diver’s modern watch re-interpretation. Staying true to its name, the watch is water resistant for up to 200m / 660ft diver’s and has a stainless steel case with strong coating.

Lastly, an unexpected yet perfectly synergized collaboration is the limited-edition Seiko 5 Sports Yuto Horigome watch. Three-time Street League Skateboarding winner Yuto Horigome selected the colors, materials, finishes, and graphics in order to create an original customized watch.
