For fans of the Hocus Pocus movies and all things Halloween, the holiday just got that much more exciting. For a limited time, two lucky fans will have the chance to stay in a perfect replica of the Sanderson sisters’ home with the Hocus Pocus Airbnb opening this fall.
Easily one of the best spot for sleepovers for Halloween decorating-obsessed fans, the house has been made to mirror the set used in the film with all of its magical details and timeworn appeal.
Here, we take an in-depth look at the home where lucky guests will be able to sleep for only $31 for the night.
The Hocus Pocus Airbnb
The home can be found nestled in the remote woods of Salem, Massachusetts, embedding the property in a wealth of magical history. The cottage itself, although looking run-down on the outside, has been meticulously crafted to appear as if it has been frozen in time for over 300 years.
You won’t find any cozy cottage garden ideas here, however. The setting, while a gorgeous spot for family walks and picnics in the day, becomes the perfect spooky scary backdrop at night whether you want to explore the magical activities the home offers, or would rather cozy up with the new movie.
There is no standard outdoor Halloween decor in this house – although the pictures alone are bound to provide infinite inspiration for your own spooky decor.
Complete with a spell book and potions case, the home’s decorating ideas are wholly inspired by the film, throwing guests into the lore of the movies from the moment they step through the doors.
Guests are even invited to try their hand at enchantments with the ancient spell book used by the sisters throughout the films.
The main space of the cottage houses cozy living room ideas, perfect for snuggling up with the new Hocus Pocus 2 movie, with home bar ideas straight from a historic home providing the perfect place to make movie snacks.
The living room showcases just a few of the fabulous antique pieces that are used throughout the home with ornate carved chairs and an upholstered sofa.
With antique trends remaining big this year, the Hocus Pocus Airbnb is a wonderfully whimsical place for sourcing furniture inspiration, especially if you are chasing the Dark Academia trend.
Other storybook features include the large cauldron centerpiece that fans will know is a central prop used in the films and purposefully squeaky floorboards to create an authentic experience.
Who knows what else you may discover in the deepest corners and closets of the witches’ house?
Besides the overtly witchy additions, the home is decorated cozily throughout meaning any guest will be more than comfortable during their stay.
Candles light the Hocus Pocus Airbnb throughout helping make a house look cozy while antique-style books and decor pieces offer an old-world master class in decorating with vintage for an old-world appeal. Vintage trays, antique books and chests, and ornate mirrors make the space feel like something straight out of a moment in history.
Vintage bedroom ideas are designed to allude to the cottage’s supposed to be 300-year history and include plump bedding, wrought iron bed frames, antique dressing tables and ornaments, and expansive gallery wall ideas immersing guests in the historically spooky experience from morning till night.
For those who may be wondering, broomstick parking is included.
Guests will also be able and encouraged to explore the area’s rich magical history, with visits available to some of Salem’s most haunted properties to help set the Halloween mood.
The cottage itself has been embedded into Salem’s history, with information available around the property that gives the home its own fictional place in real-world events.
‘We all know that the Sanderson sisters’ story might not have ended when we turned to dust, nor did our shenanigans,’ said Kathy Najimy, who plays Mary Sanderson in the beloved films. ‘What better way to celebrate the season than to host guests at the trio’s historic haunt for a night they’ll remember for years to come?’
Booking on Airbnb (opens in new tab) opens on the 12th of October at 1pm ET at an appropriately spooky $31 for a one-night stay at the home on the 20th of October. Although not a competition, this is an exclusive opportunity for two guests.
To support the next generation of the historic city, Airbnb has pledged to make a one-time donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, which aims to ensure that success is within reach of every young person who walks through their doors.
